The superior insulation of Logix Insulated Concrete Forms is incredibly energy efficient. The insulation factor of one Platinum series panel alone is R-27! When you combine the foam panels and the thermal mass of the concrete, in theory the insulation factor is increased to a mind-boggling R-74! The thermal envelope produces an airtight structure and dramatically reduces air leakage, energy use and HVAC requirements. The thermal images below showing the minimal energy loss of an ICF wall compared to that of a wood framed wall and a concrete block wall are eye opening!
Hurricanes and tornadoes are no match for an ICF structure which is rated for 200+mph winds (with standard rebar placement). By increasing the rebar, these structures are rated to withstand winds of over 250 mph!
